Hybrid quantum processors using impurity donors in silicon
Coupling single spins to superconducting circuits represents a powerful route toward scalable hybrid quantum technologies. This Masterclass will present how bismuth impurities in silicon can be used as highly coherent quantum systems and integrated with superconducting devices to build a new generation of hybrid quantum processors.
Bismuth impurities in silicon offer a particularly attractive platform for quantum information processing. Their spin states provide long-lived quantum degrees of freedom, while the silicon environment offers a mature and scalable technological foundation. However, their weak interaction with electromagnetic fields makes individual control and readout challenging. Superconducting circuits, by contrast, provide strong electromagnetic coupling, fast control, and scalable architectures, but generally suffer from shorter coherence times. Hybridizing bismuth spin states in silicon with superconducting devices opens a path toward processors that combine long-lived quantum memory with rapid and flexible superconducting control.
This vision is at the heart of Qolumbus SAS, a recently created French deeptech company developing disruptive hybrid quantum chips and positioning itself among the emerging players of the French quantum ecosystem.

A quick tour of the HQI Quantum Computers at TGCC
HQI is a French initiative aiming to provide quantum computing resources to the French research ecosystem. One of its concrete outcomes is the installation of two QPUs at TGCC: the Ruby machine (provided by Pasqal), based on cold atoms and Rydberg Hamiltonians, and the Lucy machine (provided by Quandela), based on linear optical quantum computing. This session will describe these machines and how TGCC users can access and utilize them.

Covering quantum science and tech: Masterclass for journalists
Quantum science and technology is becoming one of the defining stories of the decade, yet for most audiences it remains abstract, confusing and overhyped. On the eve of VivaTech, 16 June 2026, UNESCO and France Quantum will host a one-hour hybrid masterclass at Station F in Paris to give journalists the tools they need, dispel common misconceptions and provide fresh angles to bring this fast-moving field to their readers and viewers.
● Amal KASRY, Chief of Basic Sciences & Engineering at UNESCO and a lead architect of the Global Quantum Initiative. Dr. Kasry is recognized as an international voice on the quantum divide, inclusive access, and the governance of emerging quantum technologies.
● Cécile PERRAULT, Vice President of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) representing 160+ quantum companies. Dr. Perrault works at the intersection of industry and policy advising the European Commission on quantum strategy, alongside her quantum computing expertise as Director of Innovation & Partnerships at Alice & Bob.

Quantum at Scale for New Space: From Emulation to Actionable Earth Intelligence on the DestinE Platform
Step into the quantum journey with OVHcloud and discover how Europe’s leading cloud provider is making quantum computing accessible to industries and researchers through an open, sovereign, and interoperable platform.
This session will unveil the OVHcloud Quantum roadmap, highlighting the progressive integration of emulators, partner QPUs, and hybrid AI-quantum workflows, as well as concrete opportunities to accelerate real-world use cases — from optimization to complex system simulation.
A live integration case will also be featured: the collaboration with Serco, connecting OVHcloud’s Quantum Platform to the European DestinE (Digital Twin Earth) portal, leveraging quantum power to process and analyze Earth observation data.
Join us to explore how this approach paves the way for the next generation of hybrid computing pipelines, driving European innovation.

Merlin, the Platform for Discovering New Quantum Algorithms
As quantum computing capabilities continue to advance, one of the key challenges is the discovery of algorithms that can fully leverage these new architectures. Merlin is designed to address this challenge: a platform built to accelerate the exploration, evaluation, and generation of new quantum algorithms.
This panel will bring together researchers, industry leaders, and developers around a central question: how can the discovery of quantum algorithms be transformed into a more open, collaborative, and automated process? Discussions will cover hybrid AI-quantum approaches, automated circuit discovery, application benchmarking, and emerging use cases in optimization, chemistry, and machine learning.
Through Merlin, the goal is to rethink how the community designs the algorithms of tomorrow: faster, at greater scale, and with direct interaction between hardware, simulation, and artificial intelligence.

Quantum talent: Trends in an emerging workforce
In this talk, we examine talent trends in the quantum workforce, defining what it means to be “quantum talent” and exploring the key skills and career pathways shaping this workforce. Quantum talent is a nuanced workforce, made up of roles like quantum engineers, software engineers, researchers, and physicists, requiring a deep understanding of theoretical physical concepts as well as practical competencies. The quantum workforce is a network of high-performing regional hubs, but it remains small in absolute scale and is constrained by limited talent supply. While global demand for quantum skills peaked in 2022, demand remains strong in the largest talent hubs: the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, Canada, and France.

Quantum IP: Who Is Filing Today, and Who May Control Tomorrow?
In quantum technologies, intellectual property is not just a legal issue — it is a strategic signal.
In a first-to-file system, the players who move early may secure exclusive rights that can shape markets for the next twenty years.
This keynote will provide a concise overview of the current quantum patent landscape: who is filing, in which segments of the value chain, and what these filing patterns reveal about competition, industrial ambition and future power positions.
Looking across startups, major corporations, public research organisations and international ecosystems, the session will highlight why patent data offers a unique lens on the quantum race — and why businesses cannot afford to treat IP as an afterthought.
