Description
Carley Scott OAM is focused on innovation in quantum communications for defence, intelligence and space activities. Founder and CEO of VC backed Space CoLAB, Carley drives a focus on real world requirements, speed to market, and handing allied nations solutions with impact. Space CoLAB is also set to launch a femto satellite from the UK in 2026 for technology testing. Previously, Carley was CEO developing Australia's first successful commercial spaceport, securing the historic NASA contract for commercial rocket launches from Australia to enhance allied technology exchange, pre TSA. To do this, she successfully navigated a complex and emerging cross nation regulatory, evolving environmental and
security frameworks, while working closely with NASA, the Australian Space Agency, and First Nations communities. Carley has also served as CEO of a Rio Tinto-funded development company; a specialist advisor to government on major strategic site developments in Victoria, a
board member of the Space Industry Association of Australia, and Economic Development Australia. Her broader advisory roles span defence, space, and technology innovation, including contributions to the Victorian Government Defence, and the CSIRO Advanced Manufacturing Committee.
Recognized for her contributions to industry and community, Carley was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2021, named among Australia’s Top 100 Women of Influence by AFR (2019), and won the Telstra Business Women’s Award in 2017 (NT, Social Enterprise). A Monash University graduate, she is passionate about hands-on innovation and advancing technologies that strengthen economic and national security.
