Description
JP is an electronic engineer and quantum physicist specialising in the design and development of hardware for quantum technologies. Trained across both engineering and physics, he brings a practical, system‑level approach to building and scaling quantum devices.
His career began in academia, completing a PhD at the University of New South Wales, followed by a postdoctoral appointment at Delft University of Technology, and achieving Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney. He subsequently transitioned into industry, joining Microsoft Quantum in Sydney as a Senior Measurement Engineer, leading on to become a founding member of Emergence Quantum.
Across academia and industry, JP has contributed to the development, characterisation and benchmarking of multiple quantum hardware platforms, including silicon spin qubits, semiconductor quantum dots and superconducting qubits. His work focuses on turning cutting‑edge research into reliable, high‑performance quantum systems, bridging the gap between laboratory prototypes and deployable technology.
